Flat Roofs
Flat Roofing Services in the Lower Mainland
Flat roofs are also known as “waterproof” roofs. This is because unlike a sloped roof that sheds water, a flat roof is waterproof in that it will keep water out of the building regardless of the water’s direction of travel (unlike a sloped or water-shedding roof, that only keeps water out that is moving in one direction – down the roof slope).
Flat roofs are not actually flat, all flat roofs will have a small slope to aid in proper movement of water throughout the roof field to the drains. There are many different types of flat roofs and flat roofing materials.
Westcoast Roofing Systems is able to service, design, install and repair all types of flat roofing systems including:
Torch on (modified bituminous membrane – SBS) is a common material used in the industry for a variety of flat roof applications. Given that heat is used to bond the membranes together, great care must be used when installing this type of roofing system.
Unlike other flat roofing systems, EPDM and TPO are single ply membranes that have a number of unique, valuable design features.
Commonly referred to as a “tar and gravel” roof and built on site by building up layers of organic felt paper with hot asphalt.
Liquid Applied PMMA is a good option for intricate or complicated roofs.
